What This Guide Covers

Choosing wheels for your car is an exciting moment!

Right as you think you're ready to order, you may come to realize that just like every other part of your build your wheels can be just as much of a task.

We want to make the process as easy as possible while delivering the perfect result every time. Researching for your next component is a fact of life but often times you end up with conflicting or interesting yet unimportant information. This guide is created to save you as much time as possible while delivering you everything you need to know. Are you ready to get rolling?!

Lets quickly go over what this guide will cover:

-First, we need to talk about tires. Tires are ultimately the purpose of wheels, which are a fashionable way to turn rotational motion into linear motion. Beginning where road meets car is our preferred way of beginning the order process.

-Second, we want to talk about looks. If you're going to spend as much time and money on changing your wheels, you are going to want them to look good. We will give you the rundown on types of wheels and which looks are common with types of cars.

-Third, lets get your specs. Fitment is just as important as the design of your wheel. From maximizing performance to stancing your ride, whether its form or function first you'll need to know what you're working with.

-Lastly, your wheels finish. From a classic polished wheel to a striking ceramic coat, the final finish of your wheel can drastically change its form. Everybody has their opinions and we have our own. Let us share ours on what we think tends to look best. You can listen, or don't because its your car and ultimately you know best what you want.

A Consideration on Tires

Choosing the size of your wheels is very much a question of what comes first. You obviously need the tires to drive the car but you also need the wheel to have the tires on the car. We believe it is best to select your tires first and work within what is left to build your wheel and there are some important reasons for doing it this way.

Most importantly it saves you time and energy. Imagine for a moment you build out what you believe to be the perfect size wheel for you. You paid the money for them, waited patiently, excitedly test fit them on the car, but then you go to get tires mounted and realize there is only one supplier for the tires to fit your new wheel. This is fine if the car isn't being driven terribly hard, but if you daily the car or push it even harder you may end up frequently having to buy this one of a kind tire. Due to the low volume of these tires they tend to be significantly more expensive than a more common size. Over time being forced into purchasing this tire can be an unnecessary strain on both your time and wallet. While this can be a niche case, it does happen so we suggest at least giving your preferred tire size a look and seeing your options before deciding on a size.
